In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Newton-Conover Rotary Club members traveled to South Newton Elementary School Friday, March 1 to share the beloved author’s books. Members began reading at 9 a.m. to classes full of students from pre-kindergarten to 2nd grade.

The reading took place on the annual ‘Read Across America Day’, when adults all over the county volunteer to read Dr. Seuss books to schools in their communities.

Newton-Conover Rotary Club encouraged their members from the business and professional field to participate. Titles read during the event included “Green Eggs and Ham,”  “Cat in the Hat” and “Horton Hears a Who.”
