Change is on the minds of many candidates for local offices.
From changes in leadership and positive changes in crime statistics to a change in priorities, candidates spoke about change and the role it plays in the office they're seeking at the second of a two-part election forum organized by area citizens.
Candidates for Catawba County sheriff, clerk of court, soil and water conservation district supervisor, district attorney, Catawba County Board of Commissioners, Supreme Court associate justice, N.C. Court of Appeals, 96th District of the N.C. House of Representatives and district court judge spoke Tuesday night at an election forum at St. John's Lutheran Church in Conover. Candidates were give five minutes to speak about why they're running for office and the most challenging issue they'll face, if elected.
