Calling cutest babies, pets

January 2, 2012

The arrival of a new year brings Catawba County citizens the chance to show off their pride and joy.

"Once again, we're looking for Catawba County's cutest babies, both in terms of human babies and the 'fur babies' of the animal kingdom," said The Observer News Enterprise Publisher Michael Willard. "Every year, our special section dedicated to the county's cutest babies and cutest pets is hugely popular, and we are excited to give the county's parents the chance to show off their pride and joy."

The O-N-E is inviting citizens to submit pictures of babies born during 2011. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles are all invited to share photos of their new bundles of joy that arrived during the past year.
Meanwhile, The O-N-E is also inviting pet owners to share photos of their pets.

"We hope parents and pet owners will email photos to us or visit our website and upload photos of babies and pets," Willard said.

Photos can be emailed to onenews@observernewsonline.com. Go to www.observernewsosnline.com and click on "Submit Photos" under the local news drop-down menu to submit pictures of pets and babies. Pictures can go in the "pets" or "babies" category. Pet owners can also submit their pets through the "Pet Pals" link at www.observernewsonline.com.
Photos can also be delivered to The O-N-E headquarters at 309 North College Ave. in Newton.

"We will be accepting photos of the cutest babies and pets through January 16," Willard said. "Then, the cutest pets and babies will be selected, and we'll publish as many as possible inside a special section that will be coming on Jan. 26 inside OUTLOOK."

Businesses are invited to participate on this popular section. To advertise in this fan favorite, contact Jonathan Clark at 828-464-0221.

"We look forward to seeing all the cute pets and babies in Catawba County," Willard said, "and while every pet and baby is cute, we look forward to announcing the cutest in this special edition."
