Caldwell County Post 29 avenged a loss earlier in the season to Hickory Post 48, picking up a 7-5 victory at M.S Deal Stadium in Granite Falls on Tuesday.

Hickory (15-2, 10-2) and Caldwell County (16-2, 9-2) are tied atop the Area IV West Division. Both have two Western Division losses.

Post 48 handed Post 29 a 9-0 defeat on June 4, giving Caldwell County its first loss of the season.

Last week, Hickory cancelled two exhibition games with Caldwell County, including games on June 23 and June 27.

Hickory's next pivotal Area IV West Division game is on Friday against Cherryville, a team they lost to earlier this season, 4-2. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds.
