The Catawba Valley Community College men's basketball team rallied from down 10 points at halftime against Patrick Henry Community College to come away victorious 71-69 on Wednesday.
The Bucs, who trailed for most of Wednesday's game, scored 40 points in the second half and took their first lead with 30 seconds remaining in the game.
However, the Patriots made a 3-pointer as time expired to send the contest to an extra session.
CVCC scored six points in the overtime period to Patrick Henry's four points, giving the Bucs the two-point win in Carolinas-Virginia Conference play.
Anthony Hilliard paced CVCC (13-6, 3-2) with 21 points and three assists, while Terrance Polk added 14 points, 22 rebounds and four blocks.
Hillard was also 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
KiJuan Arrington led Patrick Henry (5-7, 0-5) with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Kris Harris added 10 points.
CVCC is back in action Saturday when it travels to Louisburg College for a 3 p.m. contest.View more articles in:
