September 25, 2012

A Hickory pastor was arrested Monday and charged with indecent liberties with a child following a police investigation, a Newton Police Department release states.

According to the release, Bradley William Moss, 38, of Newton, was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center with a $100,000 bond. His first appearance in court, the release states, is Wednesday.

According to the release, a report was filed with NPD on July 11 by the mother of a juvenile who notified the department of a possible sex offense. An investigation was initiated by NPD and the Catawba County Department of Social Services.

"The allegations involve the suspect ... and a juvenile, also of Newton, that Mr. Moss had met at his church, Victory Empowerment Center International of Hickory, where Mr. Moss is a pastor," the release states.

The arrest was made as a result of the investigation. No further details were available in the press release.
