Four people were shot during an early morning home invasion in Conover on Tuesday.
Catawba County sheriff's deputies report two people were killed and two others injured in the invasion at a mobile home park off Emmanuel Church Road about 4:30 a.m.
Two people were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition, and the other is stable, according to investigators.
Emerging details indicate a masked gunman knocked on the door of a home in the Oak Knoll mobile home park. When a resident answered the door the man demanded money and shots were fired.
Investigators are still at the scene of this developing news story.
The shooter is still on the loose, and investigators have not yet released any description of the suspect. Deputies have also not released the names of the dead or wounded.

Please keep in mind that these citizens, legal or illegal, were just excercising their constitutional right to bear arms. Just because two are dead and two are wounded is just a by-product of excercising their Second Amendment right.
Expect to see more violent crimes like this shooting around these parts as those inclined to commit violence know that they will not be properly prosecuted by our courageous DA.
Too bad you have to drive out of our county to buy a decent gun.
