Fred T. Foard junior quarterback Matt Williams will miss the rest of the prep football season after breaking his left leg in this past Friday's game against Maiden.

Williams broke his left tibia/shin bone in two places in the contest, which the Tigers lost at home, 48-20.

With Williams being sidelined, the door is now open for someone to step in to his starting role.

Among those that could vie for the opening are varsity back up quarterback Jackson Bass and junior varsity quarterback Alexander Toy.

Williams' ailment also adds to a list of growing injuries for the Tigers, who are already playing running back Jacob Schmidt with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Schmidt is wearing a brace to play through the injury.

Fred T. Foard (0-1) travels to Bandys (1-0) on Friday for its second varsity prep football game of the season.
