The Charlotte Bobcats were active during Thursday's NBA trade deadline, shipping Hakim Warrick to the Orlando Magic for forward Josh McRoberts.

McRoberts, a former Duke standout, has played in 246 career games in his six-year NBA career. He was a second round pick in the 2007 NBA draft by the Portland Trailblazers.

Averaging 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in his career, McRoberts has also spent time with Indiana (2008-11), the L.A. Lakers (2011-12) and Orlando (2012-13) during his NBA career.

“Josh McRoberts is a quality young big man who can play either post position for us,” said Charlotte Bobcats President of Basketball Operations Rod Higgins. “We look forward to adding his size and energy to our rotation.”

The 25-year-old McRoberts has one year left on a $3.1 million contract.

An eight-year NBA veteran, Warrick was originally acquired by the Bobcats on Nov. 13, 2012 from the New Orleans Hornets for guard Matt Carroll.

Warrick played in 27 games this season for Charlotte, including 14 starts. He has averaged 7.0 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.9 minutes per game this season for the Bobcats.

The 6-foot-9 Warrick has career averages of 9.4 points and 4.0 rebounds.

The Magic will be the seventh NBA team Warrick has played for in his career. He also spent time with Memphis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Phoenix and New Orleans, along with his short stint in Charlotte.

Warrick has two years remaining on a $4 million contract.
