Board adopts Schedule of Values

October 4, 2010

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted the proposed Schedule of Values, Standards and Rules for the county's 2011 revaluation.
County residents have 30 days to challenge the Schedule of Values after adoption of the schedule is published in area newspapers.
The revaluation will be effective Jan. 1. Catawba County has 87,000 parcels of land, which must be appraised at 100 percent of market value.
Catawba County Tax Administrator Mark Logan said his staff has been working for almost three years to gather appropriate records, such as property sale documents and income expense statements, which help determine market value.
The Schedule of Values is on display at the Catawba County Tax Assessor's Office, which is located on the first floor of the county government center off Southwest Boulevard in Newton.
