Blue Devils stop Tigers in Harper's debut, 48-20

Former SD-7 squads Maiden and Fred T. Foard collided on the gridiron Friday with the Blue Devils coming away with a 48-20 victory against the Tigers.

Jake McRee threw for 295 yards and five touchdowns in the contest to lead the Maiden (1-0).

Kyle Kelly and T.J. Vick each caught two touchdown passes from McRee, while the other touchdown through the air went to Alex White.

Foard quarterback Matt Williams, who threw for 68 yards and ran for another 88 yards, injured his ankle in the game.

The status of Williams, who also had a rushing touchdown in the contest, is unknown for next week.

Dylan Curtis led Foard (0-1) with a fumble recovery and interception return — both for touchdowns.

The Blue Devils host West Iredell (1-0) next week, while Fred T. Foard is on the road once again versus Bandys (1-0).
