A Conover man is dead and two others are hospitalized after a car crashed into a tree on Lee Cline Road Thursday night. Troopers say Lorenzo Antwan Baker was driving north on Lee Cline Road toward Springs Road at a high speed when his 1999 Saturn crossed the centerline coming around a curve. When he attempted to correct, he ran off the right side of the road and overcorrected again, crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a mailbox and then a tree near Houston Mill Road about 9:30 p.m., said Sgt. T.M. Daniel with the N.C. State Highway Patrol. |
