A Newton woman was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital Tuesday morning, after an accident left her pinned in her vehicle for 30 minutes. A box truck was headed south on East P. Street Extension and a Lincoln Navigator was headed east on N.C. 16 South about 9 a.m. when the two vehicles collided in the center of the intersection, said Trooper L.C. Hughes with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He said the Navigator T-boned the truck on the passenger side. The truck spun almost 360 degrees, and a roadside guardrail stopped it from going down a nearby embankment. |
