The impact of the United Way is real and far-reaching.  You may not have been helped by the Catawba County United Way directly, but you probably know someone who has been touched through the work of its volunteers.

“We do this every day, but it really hits home when it’s someone you know,” said Tammy Dotson, finance director with the Catawba County United Way.

The United Way is known as an organization that reaches out to the community to help people, providing some form of assistance to more than one-third of the county’s population.

Investor Web Site Now Online PDF Print E-mail

The Web site is up and it’s live.  The receiver for J.V. Huffman Jr.’s estate published an online site, serving as a resource for investors.

“It’s our hope the Web site answers a number of questions for folks,” said John Langston, an attorney with the receiver’s office, Kellam and Pettit of Charlotte.

The office phone lines have been flooded with more than 25 phone calls a day from investors looking for answers since the office was appointed receiver by the federal court system on Nov. 12.
