Black Friday is an annual event where retailers everywhere cut prices to extreme lows for a very limited time, and shoppers flood the cities trying to get the best deals on their holiday shopping. 2012 Black Friday weekend, including sales from Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, brought a record 427 million shoppers into stores, spending an average of $423 each, according to the National Retail Federation.
With the rise in crowds and purchases over this weekend comes a rise in crime.
