A 36-yard run by Sam Benfield with 2:13 left ended up being the winning score, lifting Fred T. Foard to its second victory of the season, 34-41, over West Lincoln.

Benfield rushed nine times for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the contest, including the game's opening score on a 39-yard run.

The Tigers added two more touchdowns in the first half, including a 10-yard run from Jalen Thompson and a one-yard punch-in by quarterback Jacob Schmidt.

West Lincoln's lone score of the first half came with 7:05 left in the second quarter on a Daniel Davila 26-yard touchdown run.

Trailing 20-7 at halftime, the Rebels (2-1) outscored Foard (2-1) by a 24-14 margin in the second half.

West Lincoln also outgained Fred T. Foard in the game, 309-246.

Two fourth quarter touchdowns by Foard, including Benfield's 36-yarder and Chris Mays' 10-yard scamper, made the difference for the Tigers, who hung on for the three-point win.

Fred T. Foard goes for its third win of the season next Friday when it hosts unbeaten Bunker Hill (3-0) in Newton.
