Area games postponed due to weather

The winter weather in Catawba County had an effect on the Tuesday sports schedule as expected in the area.

The Bunker Hill-West Caldwell basketball games scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed until Wednesday. School officials said they will re-evaluate the situation tomorrow.

Also, the wrestling match scheduled between Bunker HIll and West Caldwell has been postponed until Wednesday.

The Draughn-Newton-Conover basketball games will be played if both schools systems are in session on Wednesday.

There have been no make up dates for three basketball games, including Maiden at East Burke, South Iredell at Bandys and Hickory at St. Stephens.

No make up dates were announced for four wrestling matches either, including Newton-Conover at Draughn, Bandys at South Iredell, St. Stephens at Hickory and East Burke at Maiden.

A four-team swim meet at the Hickory YMCA between Fred T. Foard, South Caldwell, Watauga and St. Stepehens has been cancelled with no make up date.

The men's basketball game at Catawba Valley Community College against Rockingham. No make-up date has been set for that game as well.
