7 county hoops squads return to action Tuesday

Following the conclusion of the 25th annual Catawba Valley Classic, prep basketball action returns today.

Teams in the early stages of the conference portions of their schedules in both the Catawba Valley Athletic 2A and Northwestern 3A/4A.

In a rematch of Thursday’s thrilling boys title game at the Catawba Valley Classic, Hickory welcomes Alexander Central.

Foard (10-3, 0-2) tries to snap a 26-game conference losing streak in boys basketball against South Caldwell (5-6, 0-2).

St. Stephens is also in action. The Indians travel to Hibriten.

In 2A competition, Bunker Hill and Maiden both host conference games tonight, while Newton-Conover and Bandys are on the road.

The Bears welcome Draughn, while the Blue Devils host South Iredell.
The Red Devils travel down I-40 to face East Burke in Connelly Springs.

The Trojans head to West Caldwell to battle the Warriors on the hardwood.
