4 'Dads help pace Northern All-Stars in 3-2 win

June 19, 2012

Four of the five Hickory Crawdads All-Star representatives helped pace the Northern Division to the 3-2 victory against the Southern Division in the 2012 SAL All-Star Game, before 6,099 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, S.C. on Tuesday night.

Hickory shortstop Hanser Alberto, who played the entire game, drove in one of the Northern side's runs.

Crawdads pitchers Phil Klein and Victor Payano both logged scoreless relief innings.

Left fielder Chris Grayson also played the entire game in left field for the North.

Hickory's fifth All-Star, right-handed pitcher Nick Martinez, did not pitch because he is slated to start the Crawdads game this Thursday.

The Crawdads start the second-half of the season Thursday against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at 7 p.m. at L.P. Frans Stadium.
