11 runs, 16 hits doom 'Dads in loss to Drive

The Greenville Drive pounded out 11 runs on 16 hits on Friday to take the series opener against the Hickory Crawdads, picking up an 11-6 victory at L.P. Frans Stadium.

The Drive (31-29) scored in all but three innings of the game, including two runs in the first and sixth.

Greenville's biggest inning came in the seventh when it plated four runs.

Right fielder Lucas LeBlanc led Greenville, going 4-for-5 from the plate with a grand slam, five RBIs and three runs scored.

Kevin Torres led Hickory (32-28) with two RBIs driven in on a 1-for-4 hitting day. Chris Grayson, Hanser Alberto, Drew Robinson and Trever Adams also drove in one RBI each the Crawdads.

Greenville and Hickory play the second of a three-game series Friday at L.P. Frans Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
