Bandys and Wilkes Central meet today at 4 p.m. for the 2A West Regional championship. The Trojans won Friday against North Surry, while Wilkes Central picked up a three-point win against East Burke.

The Lady Trojans were guided by 33 points from sophomore guard and reigning CVAC player of the year Madi Story. Senior post player Taylor Sigmon added 10 points in the victory.
The Trojans (25-2) led 32-28 in the first half behind 19 points from Madi Story.
The sophomore guard was 9-for-13 from the field in the first half, grabbed six rebounds and recorded two steals.
Newton-Conover enters Friday's contest with a record of 23-3. Bandys enters Friday's game with a record of 24-1 with their lone loss being the Lady Red Devils.
Each squad won on its own home court in the season series.

Hickory's Raheim Connelly hits his 10th three-point shot with 3 seconds left to lift the Tornadoes to the Catawba Valley Championship over Alexander Central.
The game featured 20 made three-point baskets, including Connelly's 10 and four from Catawba Valley Classic Tournament MVP Jalen Byrd.
An all-tournament team selection, Connelly led all scorers with 30 points and Byrd added 27.
Alex Ayer scored 17 to lead Alexander Central and Jonas Watts scored 15.
