Dr. George Place II, 40, has been named Catawba County's new Cooperative Extension Director.
Place is originally from Kansas City, Mo., where he studied at the University of Missouri at Kansas City towards his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Plant Biological Studies and a Chemistry minor. Place then completed his studies and earned his degree from the University of New Mexico.
