Hickory Post 48â€™s season was ended on Friday at the hands of Asheville Post 70.
After winning two of the first three games in the series, Asheville took an early lead in game No. 4 on Friday at Henkel-Alley Field and never looked back on its way to a 5-4 victory.

Alexander County scored five early runs and held off a late charge from Hickory, winning the first Area IV playoff game between the two teams Tuesday, 5-3.
Game two of the series takes places tonight at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Friday night's Area IV West Division game between Hickory Post 48 and Shelby Post 82 was postponed.
The contest is rescheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Keeter Stadium/Veterans Field in Shelby.
Post 48 (10-11, 8-8 in Area IV West) has two remaining games left in the regular season, including at Henkel-Alley Field on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Burke Post 21.
