The pairings for the 2014 Dick's Sporting Goods Catawba Valley Classic basketball tournament were released on Thursday afternoon.
Below is a look at the pairings:
First round (Dec. 27 at CVCC's Tarlton Complex)
No. 2 South Caldwell vs. No. 7 Newton-Conover, 10 a.m.
No. 3 Alexander Central vs. No. 6 Bunker Hill, 1 p.m.
Left with a sour taste in its mouth from last Fridayâ€™s 65-62 home loss to Newton-Conover, the Hickory boys basketball team responded in a big way.
The Red Tornadoes jumped ahead of the Red Devils early on the road, going on to win 80-71 on Wednesday in Newton.
