Winning 4-3 in close games is becoming a tradition this week for the St. Stephens baseball team.
A single by Dylan Brown in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Konner Klingenberg from third base, allowing St. Stephens to knock off the defending Easter Classic champion Hickory, 4-3.
The Saint victory comes one day after defeating Fred T. Foard, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Bunker Hill bounced back from a difficult loss in the opening round of the Easter Baseball Classic with an 8-2 win against Maiden on Tuesday.
In other Classic consolation action, Fred T. Foard took down South Iredell.

Whatâ€™s been a difficult season for Newton-Conover on the baseball diamond so far in 2013 got just a little brighter on Monday.
The Red Devils drove in 17 runs on 13 hits en route to stunning top-seeded Bunker Hill 17-4 in the first round of the Catawba County Easter Baseball Classic.

Former Newton-Conover assistant coach Mike Natoli was named the head coach at West Iredell on Thursday.
Natoli takes over the Warriors from Mark Weyker, who spent the past 26 seasons as coach. Weyker led the program to a 124-163 record during his tenure.
From 2004-09, Natoli was an assistant at NCHS under former Red Devils coach Nick Bazzle.
