Four Catawba County wrestlers advanced to the finals of their respective weight classes on Friday at the 2A and 3A individual state tournament in Greensboro.
Three of those four come from the 2A ranks, including Newton-Conover sophomore Austin Klutz and Bandys seniors Andrew Brotherton and Anthony Christopher.
The Bandys girls basketball teamâ€™s home winning streak remains in tact, as the Lady Trojans head to Greensboro for the fourth straight year.
Facing East Burke for the fourth time this season, the Lady Trojans (27-2) won the most pivotal of those match ups on Friday, 58-55, to advance to the 2A Western Regionals.

3A girls (Section 3)
No. 4 Tuscola 61, No. 1 Hickory 57

3A boys (Section 4)

**Tigers finish season 23-5**
2A girls (Section 4)
The Carolina Panthers cut veteran defensive tackle Ron Edwards on Friday as the team continues to work to clear cap space by the March 12 deadline.
Edwards, who has been in the league for the past 12 seasons, spent the past two years with the Panthers. In 11 games for Carolina in 2012, Edwards recorded 16 tackles and a sack.
