No. 4 Tuscola (20-7) at No. 1 Hickory (25-2), 6:30 p.m.
**Winner meets either No. 6 Franklin (23-6) or No. 10 Enka (13-15) next Thursday at UNC-Greensboro**
3A boys (Section 4)
February 27th
Down teammates Jordan Turner and Daniel Tomberlin, senior Brice Falgout stepped up when his team needed him.
Falgout scored 18 points, helping the Fred T. Foard boys basketball team (24-4) advance to the third round of the 3A playoffs with a 58-56 win against Hickory.

With the NBA's worst team in town, the Los Angeles Clippers were conscious not to play down to the Bobcats' level.
Blake Griffin scored 24 points, keying a decisive second-quarter burst that put the Clippers in command en route to a 106-84 victory Tuesday night that improved their home record to 23-6.

The Bandys girls basketball team had Newton-Conover's number for the second-straight week on Monday.
The Lady Trojans (25-2) pulled out to a double digit lead on their way to a 68-37 victory at Bost-Matheson Gymnasium, eliminating the Lady Red Devils (15-11) from the postseason.
Senior Raheim Connelly scored eight points in overtime on Monday, helping the Hickory boys basketball team survive a thriller in the first round of the 3A playoffs with a 67-59 victory against rival St. Stephens.
The Indians finish their season with a 19-8 record overall.

While the NBA's Slam Dunk contest may have been last weekend in Houston, the Denver Nuggets made Time Warner Cable Arena their own personal highlight reel on Saturday.
The Nuggets (35-22) tallied 14 jams en route to a 113-99 victory against the Charlotte Bobcats (13-43).
Center JaVale McGee made seven of those dunks for Denver, scoring 17 points and grabbing six rebounds.
