Runners battle each other, big course at United Way

October 9, 2013

NEWTON — More than 1,000 boys and girls cross-country runners competed Wednesday at the 21st Annual United Way Unifour Invitational at Southside Park.

The course for this year’s event was extended an extra 80-100 meters to make it a true 5K race.

Runners participated in five races, including one mixed open race, two invitational races and two championship races.
