All of Catawba Countyâ€™s high school swim teams meet at the Hickory YMCA tonight for the annual county swim meet.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m., features teams from Maiden, Fred T. Foard, St. Stephens, Hickory, Newton-Conover and Bandys.
The Red Tornadoes are the defending champions of the meet, winning both the boys and girls titles one year ago at Lenoir-Rhyneâ€™s Aquatic Center.
Hickoryâ€™s boys team earned 100 points last year, finishing 27 points ahead of Fred T. Foard.
In girls action, the Lady Red Tornadoesâ€™ 91 points were good enough to edge St. Stephensâ€™ 77 points.
