For the first time in three years, Maiden High School has a battle for the top quarterback position.
Matt Johnson, a three-year starter at quarterback for the Blue Devils, graduated this past June after he tallied 1,789 passing yards, 1,077 rushing yards and 30 total touchdowns in 2011.
Fred T. Foard and Maiden high schools have decided to change their football helmet designs starting with this season.
