The Hickory Crawdads kept their playoff hopes alive, treating fans to a win in the teamâ€™s regular season home finale Thursday.
Hickoryâ€™s Zach Cone and Drew Robinson both homered, while starting pitcher Will Lamb allowed no runs in five innings, helping lift the Crawdads to the 3-1 victory against the Lexington Legends at L.P. Frans Stadium.
St. Stephens lost its opener in the Northwestern 3A/4A conference in four sets to Watauga on Thursday 25-17, 25-19, 21-25 and 25-20.
Breanna Hall and Jenna Boliek led Saint (6-1, 0-1) with seven kills each. Baily Cloninger tallied 13 assists, while Katelyn Houser added 11 assists and eight digs.
