Despite a pair of home runs by Hickory Crawdads right fielder Jordan Akins, the Delmarva Shorebirds erased a two-run deficit on Tuesday to come away with a 7-3 victory at L.P. Frans Stadium.
The home runs by Akins were his seventh and eighth bombs of the season, respectively.
Maiden rising senior golfer Thomas Lilly has made his college choice.
The reigning Catawba Valley 2A golfer of the year is heading to UNC-Wilmington next fall to play golf for the Seahawks.
Lilly announced his intent to play for UNC-Wilmington earlier this week.

RALEIGH — North Carolina State is headed overseas to get a jump start on its most highly anticipated season in quite a while.
And the way coach Mark Gottfried sees it, if the Wolfpack's star point guard can't play during the team's upcoming 10-day trip to Spain, the rest of the team has a great opportunity to learn how to play without him.
