Hickory Post 48 healthy, ready to make a title run

As the American Legion Area IV baseball playoffs start on Tuesday, the expectations for Hickory Post 48 remain the same — to win a championship.

'Dads pick up series win over 'Hoppers, 7-6

Powered by a four-run fifth inning, the Hickory Crawdads picked up a series-clinching road victory over the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Monday, 7-6.

The Crawdads improve to 9-3 in the second half and 45-36 overall. Greensboro falls to 5-7 in the second half and 51-31 overall.

Charlotte's Lambert adds 4 coaches, staff complete

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte 49ers head football coach Brad Lambert has filled out his 10-person staff by hiring four additional assistant coaches.

Damien Gary will coach the running backs, Drew Dayton the inside linebackers, Johnson Richardson the tight ends and John Russell will be the assistant secondary coach.
