Before they head off to play college football at Carson-Newman, Jake Walker and Jervasse Moss have unfinished business on the prep football field.

The Newton-Conover duo play in this Wednesday's East-West All-Star Game at Jamieson Stadium in Greensboro.

Maiden boys basketball hire could come next week

Maiden High School Principal Dwayne Finger has set the timetable to hire a new boys basketball coach.

He said he hopes that task will be accomplished by as early as next week.

Bobcats withdraw qualifying offer to Augustin

CHARLOTTE — The Bobcats have announced they've rescinded their qualifying offer to point guard D.J. Augustin.

That means Augustin, Charlotte's starting point guard last year when not injured, immediately becomes an unrestricted free agent.
