Bandys has its next leader of the boys basketball program.
Scott Stilwell was approved by the Catawba County Schools Board of Education to be a social studies teacher at Bandys High School.
Stilwell also jointly accepted an offer from BHS Principal Todd Black to be the next Trojans boys basketball coach.
The Hickory Crawdads fell below the .500 mark on May 27. Since then, they've been flawless.
The 'Dads (31-25) continued their winning streak, notching their eighth-straight victory with a 14-5 tally against Kannapolis at home on Monday.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Drew Harrison's first career start as a pitcher came in the biggest game of Oklahoma's season.
The former first baseman made it look easy, allowing just two runs in six innings and getting three RBIs from Jack Mayfield on Monday night as Oklahoma beat Appalachian State 5-2 to win the Charlottesville Regional.
With two swings of the bat by Aycock's Meredith Burroughs, Fred T. Foard's dream of winning its fourth state softball title ended.

After falling behind 4-0 in the first couple of innings, Fred T. Foard rallied in its second game against C.B. Aycock in the best-of-three state 3A championship series Saturday.
The Lady Tigers (26-5) scored three runs in the top of the third, but could not get any closer, dropping the contest, 4-3, to the Falcons.
After 8.5 scoreless innings, one hit was the difference in the first game of the 3A best-of-three state softball championship series between Fred T. Foard and C.B. Aycock on Saturday.

Foard (25-4) faces C.B. Aycock (29-2) starting Saturday for a chance to win the its fourth 3A state softball championship in school history.
Behind four home runs and 10 hits, the Hickory Crawdads won their fifth-straight South Atlantic League contest, knocking off the West Virginia Power on Friday, 9-6.
Two of the Hickory's four bombs came in the fifth inning, including a two-run homer by Jeremy Williams and a solo shot by Zach Cone.
CHAPEL HILL — Colin Moran had four hits to help North Carolina beat Cornell 7-4 on Friday in the Chapel Hill Regional of the NCAA tournament.
Jacob Stallings and Adam Griffin each drove in two runs for the top-seeded Tar Heels (45-14), the No. 6 national seed. Moran's big day came a week after going just 2 for 14 in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.
The 3A softball state title series between Fred T. Foard (25-4) and C.B. Aycock (29-2) that was slated to start on Friday has been postponed.
The first game, originally slated for Friday at 8 p.m. on Field 5 of the Walnut Creek Softball Complex, was cancelled due to storms and heavy rain in the Raleigh area.
