Hickory Post 48 earned another victory in the Area IV West Division on Monday, knocking off Burke County Post 21 at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds, 17-7.
Colton Chapman and Davis Hanvey led Post 48 (10-2, 8-1) with three RBIs each, while Jordan Eckerd and Jordan Fulbright added two RBIs each.

The Charlotte Bobcats have hired St. John's assistant Mike Dunlap to be their new head coach, two people familiar with the decision said.
The people spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because an official announcement was still being planned for the next two days.
The Charlotte Observer first reported the news.
Newton's Thomas Lilly and Conover's Lee Mitchell both posted solid thir and fourth rounds at the 52nd Annual North Carolina Amateur Championships this past weekend in Durham.
Lilly fired third and fourth rounds of 6-over-par 78 and even-par 72 to finish the tournament with a 12-over-par 300, tying him for 35th place.
