Taylor Brown's blooper in 10th lifts Tigers

In a game between Tigers and Panthers, you knew it was going to be a wild contest.

A bloop single by junior Taylor Brown in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Fred T. Foard Tigers a 1-0 victory Tuesday against Franklin, advancing them to the 3A softball Final Four.

Indians' season ends in 1-0 loss to Cougars

What had been a dream season for St. Stephens ended on Tuesday with a 1-0 loss to Charlotte Catholic in the 3A Western Regional championship game at Keffer Stadium in Charlotte.

An own goal kicked in by Indians defender Amanda Hall in the 39th minute ended up being the difference maker.

Hickory, Kannapolis once again split twin-bill

For the second-straight day, the Hickory Crawdads and Kannapolis Intimidators split a doubleheader at L.P. Frans Stadium.

Kannapolis won the early game, 7-6, scoring in each of the first four innings.

The biggest of those innings was the top of the second, where the Intimidators scored three runs, including RBIs by Keenyn Walker, Garis Pena and Ross Wilson.
