Asheville pounded out 11 hits and capitalized off of four Hickory errors on defense to pick up the 9-4 victory over the Crawdads on Friday at L.P. Frans Stadium.
MIAMI, Fla. — LeBron James had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead the Miami Heat to a 105-82 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night.
Chris Bosh had 18 points and seven rebounds as the Heat completed a three-game season-series sweep of Charlotte. Miami led by 22 after three quarters and rested James, who also had five assists, the entire final period.

The Hickory Crawdads opened play at home for the 20th season in fashion on Thursday.
With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and tied 2-2 with Asheville, Crawdads left fielder Jordan Akins singled between first and second base, scoring Rougned Odor to break the tie.
For the second time in as many days, the Fred T. Foard softball earned a shutout victory against Bunker Hill at the Cherryville Easter softball tournament.
The Lady Tigers (16-2) scored two runs in the first, four runs in the third, two in the fourth and nine in the fifth to earn the impressive victory.

CHARLOTTE — For the first time this week the Detroit Pistons had some fun.
But then, most teams do these days against the NBA-worst Charlotte Bobcats.
Greg Monroe had 25 points and 11 rebounds as the Pistons salvaged a four-game road trip with a 109-85 rout of the woeful Bobcats on Thursday night.

Five men will join the 53-person Catawba County Sports Hall of Fame in May.
Jim Correll, the late Bill Bass, David Abernathy, Tom Swatzel and Marion Kirby make up the 2012 Hall of Fame class, which was announced Wednesday at the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
Hickory claimed its first Catawba County Easter Baseball Classic title since 1999 with a 12-1 mercy rule victory against Maiden on Wednesday at Henkel-Alley Field.
Nick Guarino went 3-for-4 from the plate, including two runs and two RBIs. He also pitched seven innings, striking out four, walking two and allowing two hits and one earned run.
RALEIGH — North Carolina State's DeShawn Painter and Jaqawn Raymond plan to transfer.
Team spokesman Dwayne Harrison said Wednesday night that the school has granted requested releases for both players.

Trailing by a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, Newton-Conover (3-11) scored seven runs, including two off the bat of shortstop Spencer Travis, to pull off a comeback win against Fred T. Foard in consolation action in the Catawba County Easter Baseball Classic.
The Hickory Crawdads attempted a late comeback with runs in the seventh and eighth, but came up just short against the Greenville Drive, dropping a 4-3 contest Tuesday.
