PREP NOTEBOOK: Jones, Trojans top Blue Devils

March 22, 2012

Bandys won a battle of softball heavyweights in the Catawba Valley 2A on Thursday.

Breanna Jones drove in three RBIs on a 3-for-3 day at the plate, leading the Lady Trojans (4-2, 2-1) to the key 4-2 conference win against Maiden (8-2, 3-1).

Tied 2-2 in the sixth inning, the Trojans struck with two runs to take the lead for good.

After Bandys’ Scarlett Harris reached base on a single and Rachel Cox was hit by a pitch, Jones drove in both runners on her second double of the game.

The Trojans took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning behind runs from Harris and Taylor Sigmon.
