Four Catawba County soccer players were chosen by the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association (NCSCA) as 2012 All-State team members.
Among those athletes chosen include Newton-Conover's Chandler Johnson, St. Stephens' Andrew Barton and Hickory's Carlos Sevilla and Marcos Vargas.
The CVCC men's basketball team pulled out to a 30-point lead by halftime en route to a 87-57 victory against the Belmont Abbey JV on Monday, 87-57.
Rashawn Edwards led the Bucs (6-1) with 15 points, while Josh McClain and Jalen Cannady added 14 points each in a balanced scoring effort for CVCC.
