If the Carolina Panthers are going to become the second team to start 1-5 and make it to the playoffs, it won't be under General Manager Marty Hurney.
Hurney was relieved of his duties early Monday morning, the team announced. He had served as the team's GM since 2002.
Another Sunday went by and the Carolina Panthers suffered yet another heartbreaking defeat.
Marred by a few disputable calls late in their game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Panthers dropped their fifth contest of the season, 19-14, at Bank of America Stadium in front of 73,981 fans.
