Panthers linebacker Jon Beason out for season

Panthers linebacker Jon Beason is out for the season after tearing his left achilles tendon.

According to the Panthers website, an MRI on Monday revealed the injury, which will cause Beason to miss the entire 2011 season.

Beason left on a cart in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Beason had been limited in practice because of a left ankle injury. He fell to the turf on a 48-yard touchdown pass by tight end Jeff King.
