Bobcats open to trade offers ahead of draft

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — With a revamped front office and a roster in need of upgrades, Michael Jordan's Charlotte Bobcats have a message for the rest of the NBA.

Anyone want to deal?

Holding the ninth and 19 picks in Thursday's NBA draft, the Bobcats are considering a variety of options to jump-start their rebuilding process. They've discussed packaging both picks to move up in the draft. They'll consider trading one of the picks for a veteran. And nearly every player on the roster is available in a larger deal for the right price.

Hickory Post 48 earns sweep of Asheville

For the third straight day, Hickory Post 48 was in action at Hinkel-Alley Field.

After dropping its last couple of games, Hickory managed to break through that slump with a sweep of Asheville in a Wednesday doubleheader.

Post 48 (6-7) was led in the game one victory by pitcher Jacob Hoyle. He had three of Hickory's five hits in the game, including two doubles and a single.

Hoyle was also dominate from the mound, pitching all seven innings. He allowed four hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out seven Asheville batters.
