HICKORY, NC - With just 20 games remaining in the regular season, the Hickory Crawdads continue to race towards the South Atlantic League playoffs, which they currently qualify for if the season were to end today. Hickory begins a four-game road set against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Tuesday, before returning home for their final regular season homestand from Aug. 21 - 28.

The St. Stephens Indians lost their first volleyball match of the season Monday. The Indians lost 3-0 on the road at West Iredell.
West Iredell defeated St. Stephens 25-23, 25-18 and 25-20. The Indians are 0-1 after the loss.
Nicole Hardy led St. Stephens with five kills and 14 digs. Paige Heeke had five kills, and Abby Foster had 17 assists.
The Indians next match is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at home against Draughn.
Newton-Conover opened its season Monday with a tough loss at Shelby. The Golden Lions defeated the Red Devils 5-0.
