Thomas Franklin Davis, Sr., 74, of Conover passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Davis family.

Andrew Stephen Irby, 26, of Hickory died Friday Dec. 7, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Friday Dec. 14, at Jenkins Funeral Home.

Donald E. Black, age 70, of Newton passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital Hunterville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Burke Mortuary in Maiden.

Jimmy Lee Crouse, 60, of Denver died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at his residence. To honor Jimmy’s wishes there will be no service scheduled.

Bernice Robinson Caldwell, 86, of Maiden passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Caldwell family.

Virgil James Price, 87, of Claremont died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the funeral home prior to the service.

Violet Lorene Butler Clapp, 92, of Newton passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Clapp family.

Faye Willadean Lail, 78, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Catawba Regional Hospice. The receiving will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m., at the Church Fellowship Hall and the funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the church.

Geneva Bost, 88, of Sykesville, Md. died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Center in Westminster, MD. She was born Feb. 27, 1924 in Maiden, and was the daughter of the late Klutz L. and Cora Elizabeth Williams.
