Laurels to a Newton church that is helping to make sure that when winter is at its coldest, there will always be room in the inn.
For the second winter, First Presbyterian Church in Newton has opened its â€śRoom in the Innâ€ť to homeless people who need a warm bed and a hot meal during the coldest nights of the winter season. And there is certainly a need for warm shelter in Newton.
Growing up in Alabama, we didnâ€™t get a lot of snow, even during some of the coldest winters.
Itâ€™s no secret Iâ€™m somewhat challenged when it comes to whipping up meals in the kitchen.
My fridge is usually full of microwaveable meals, all the fixinsâ€™ for cold sandwiches and diet soda â€” not exactly the ingredients for a Julia Child-like masterpiece. To say my surname isnâ€™t fitting is an understatement. Iâ€™m a disgrace to the Bakers of centuries before who actually cooked for a living.
