Tillis to visit Balls Creek Republican Fish Fry

Huge cast-iron pots will smoke over a wood fire and flames will flow out through the chimneys on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Bandys High School. The Balls Creek Republican Fish Fry is held every two years and features food, fellowsip and entertainment.

Bogle bids farewell as Clerk

The leading woman at the Catawba County Courthouse will soon be stepping down from her role and embarking on a new journey — retirement.

Al Jean Bogle has served as the Clerk of Court for the last 15 years. The Clerk is responsible for all of the documents that go through the courthouse, but the job means even more to Bogle.

Thursday night, Oct. 16, undefeated Bunker Hill High School Junior Varsity football team faced off against the Lincolnton JV team. Both teams were undefeated in conference, so Bunker Hill’s 32-26 victory was a big deal for the Bears.
