Catawba County's biodiesel research facility officially opened almost a year ago, but one county leader is opposed to spending any more tax dollars on the facility.
This year’s annual meeting of the Catawba County Historical Association is “Going to the Dogs.”
The jobless rate is up not just for Catawba County, but the entire Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton region.
While the unemployment rates are up and still above 10 percent, information released by the state's department of commerce revealed the jobless rates are still well below those issued for the same time last year.
