Some 71 years later, Dec. 7 is still a somber day for many military families as well as the older generations who lived to hear the news over the family radio.

Tuesday night the City of Conover held its twenty-third annual âChristmas in the Parkâ celebration that was held in the Downtown Park Gazebo.
âThis is the most fun we have had this year,â Conover resident Amy Asheford said. âWe moved here in March and didnât know that Conover really would go all out on a Tuesday night.â
