Catawba County EMS workers are looking for the best barbeque grillers around as they prep for their annual fundraiser, Butts and Beans BBQ Challenge.

The 4th Annual event will be held on Sept. 26 and 27 at the Hickory American Legion Fairgrounds.

20-year-old man stabbed to death

July 25, 2014

A stabbing that occured in Newton early Thursday morning resulted in the death of 20 year-old Jason Margarita.

Catawba County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at 2162 Stove Drive, Newton, at about 1:59 a.m., said Sheriff Coy Reid.
